Man Knew Victim Before Fatal Shooting During Argument In Maryland, Police Say

A suspect has been apprehended weeks after a 20-year-old man was shot to death during an argument in Prince George's County, police say.

Silver Spring resident Erick Pineda, 21, has been charged with multiple counts of murder following a midday May shooting that left Kevin Moscoso-Lopez dead.

According to police, at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, officers were called to the 1900 block of Erie Street to investigate reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival they found Moscoso-Lopez suffering from a gunshot wound. The Adelphi resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say that it is believed Pineda shot Moscoso-Lopez during an argument, and the two knew each other.

Pineda was charged with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses. He is being held in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
